‘Emily makes me feel young again!’ Peter Andre opens his heart and reveals just how special his new girlfriend is.
After his very public and heartbreaking divorce with Katie Price, and a short relationship with Elen Rives, Peter Andre thought he would never know love.
However, the singer is feeling great now that he has met new girlfriend Emily MacDonagh.
The 39-year-old is so happy with the medical student that he even admitted that she makes me him feel young.
Speaking to new! magazine he said: ‘I feel so young at the moment. I went through a stage where I was feeling my age but now I’m feeling good.
‘I don’t know if that has anything to do with, you know, my situation.’
The father-of-two, who is currently on holiday in Cyprus with his 23-year-old beauty, admitted that things are getting pretty serious between them.
He told the magazine: ‘It’s still early and I really don’t want to say too much as I’m frightened to jinx it. But I think it’s going in the right direction.’
The couple were friends for 18 months before they started seeing each other in a romantic light and Peter loves the fact that she is not in show business.
He said: ‘I think it’s just really refreshing to be with someone who is in a completely different world and you can actually have a conversation with.’
With an age gap of 16 years, some corners of the public have raised eyebrows at their relationship but the pop star is not phased by it at all.
‘I didn’t even think about the age gap, to be honest. We’re not bothered by it.
‘She is someone I have a lot of respect for so when they [the media] were saying, ‘Pete’s toygirl,’ I felt bad for her family.’
The Behind Closed Doors singer has always worn his heart on his sleeve but he is careful about how much he discloses about Emily.
He told the magazine: ‘She will be a qualified doctor in 16 months so she has a busy year ahead. But I can see it going somewhere.
‘I don’t want to be like, ‘Oh, we’re in love’ as we’ve only just started dating and we’re not there yet.
‘To be honest, I’m scared to say too much. There will come a time when I will say a lot more, but it’s still very early and I don’t want to overdo it.’
